Hello Kitty Island Adventure: 5 Best Upgrades To Get First

Apr 15, 2024

In Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, players will have numerous things to unlock around the island, but some upgrades are worth grabbing ASAP.

In Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, there are several things to do and unlock endless opportunities to uncover. While many of the things players can unlock will come naturally through gameplay, there are a couple of upgrades that players should attempt to seek out as soon as possible.

While some of these upgrades are more of a luxury than a necessity early on, they add a great deal of customization and convenience to Hello Kitty: Island Adventure. However, many of these upgrades will require increasing friendship levels with those around the island.

Kuromi, often found in Spooky Swamp, is a great friend to make early on in Hello Kitty: Island Adventure as she provides something of immense value. While Keroppi teaches players to swim with flippers, Kuromi can upgrade this ability further to include diving. The associated quest for learning to dive is called the Deep Diving quest. This quest will result in obtaining plans from Kuromi on crafting a Snorkel, which is required to dive.

Unfortunately, Kuromi won’t give this quest unless players reach level 6 friendship with her first. To increase her friendship faster, players can gift her different spooky items, including a Jack-o-lantern or pumpkins. Once players reach level 6 and assist her in the diving quest, she will present the Snorkel plans. Players can then use the Snorkel to explore the depths around the island, further expanding their map.

Another great thing to unlock as soon as possible is the ability to travel fast in Hello Kitty: Island Adventure. There are several areas around the map of the island, and any player that has begun exploring knows that it can take several minutes to travel from one corner of the map to the other. Luckily, there is something that can be done to make it much more convenient to run around visiting friends on the island. Fast traveling around the island is done through the mailboxes. Those who have interacted with them before it’s time have probably read the line about how someone on the island knows what they are for.

That person is Cinamoroll, who will only teach players to use the fast travel mailbox after Kuromi’s quest titled Delivery Service is complete. At that point, Cinamoroll will teach players how to fast travel back to Kuromi in Spooky Swamp and explain that the fast travel menu can be accessed from anywhere, but players may only fast travel to mailboxes they have personally activated. So there will still be a little bit of exploring by foot when it comes to opening up new areas.

This upgrade can be done in the Café, which is not too dissimilar from the Hello Kitty's Café that can be upgraded in Roblox. The oven upgrade will allow players to cook with multiple ingredients, unlocking an entirely new set of recipes rather than limiting them to just recipes with fewer ingredients. With this upgrade, players can cook things that can help increase their friendship levels among those on the island. These recipes include Hello Kitty's ultimate gift, Red Bow Apple Pie. To unlock this upgrade, players will, unfortunately, need to reach level 15 friendship with Hello Kitty herself.

This means that it is one of the later upgrades players will be able to get but can be obtained earlier if they choose to work on their friendship with Hello Kitty early on. Though it is not required for gameplay, it is one of the more fun aspects of Hello Kitty: Island Adventure and worth making available. In the meantime, while attempting to reach level 15, players can gift Hello Kitty with Mama’s Apple Pie, which can be made with flour and apple and will give a large friendship boost to her. Players can also gift Hello Kitty with Candied Banana Coffee, made with Candlenut, Banana, and Candy Cloud, but will require an upgraded espresso machine.

As players wander around the island in Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, they may notice several comic editions lying around to collect. However, not all of these comics will be needed for the collection; therefore, players need some place to dispose of the ones that aren’t required. This is where the Recycling Plant will come in. Players can use the Recycling Plant to turn their discarded materials into treasure, such as Coral Keys, which can unlock the pink chests found all around the island, and Coral Spores, which can be used to decorate the reef itself.

The Recycling Plant will accept any material that the player wishes to discard and even has a chance at generating Dye, which the player can use at the Dye station. Since Dye is hard to come by until reaching a best friend level with other characters, this can be an essential way to obtain it. The Dye will allow players to customize their player character further. However, players should note that the chance of receiving Dye is random, and there is no guarantee that a discarded item will return Dye, but the more items that players recycle, the better odds they will have at receiving Dye. To unlock the Recycling Plant, players will need to reach Hello Kitty’s level 11 friendship, which can be done similarly to leveling up friendships in Disney Dreamlight Valley through gifting.

Once players have unlocked the Recycling Plant and can obtain Dye, they will need somewhere to take it. Until the Dye Station is unlocked, players cannot do anything with the Dye they may receive. The Dye Station will allow players to change the color of their clothing in Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, some of which are reminiscent of the Hello Kitty clothing unlockable in Animal Crossing. Please note that not every clothing item can be dyed, however, the majority of pieces are able. Each article of clothing will have a different set of palettes, and each palette will have an additional cost of Dye associated with it.

Therefore, some things will cost more than others. To unlock the Dye Station, players will need to reach level 5 friendship with Tuxedosam; the best way to do this is to provide Tuxedosam with all the things he loves through gifting. Tuxedosam favors tropical things, so pineapples and pineapple-related dishes are an excellent gift for him. Players can also craft low material and tropical gift boxes if they have any extra fabric or gift boxes, which will also help significantly increase Tuxedosam’s friendship. The plans for these items can be found in chests around the seaside resort in Hello Kitty: Island Adventure.
